In this video I will be casting customized fine.999 silver rounds! I created the coins in blend 360 and after that printed them on my Elegoo Saturn resin 3d printer. I utilized the 3d printed designs as patterns to make sand molds. The silver was melted in my homemade metal melting keg heater. Each coin weighs in between 63 and 65 grams. ——- Affiliate links to products utilized in this video and others on my channel —— Elegoo Saturn 3d Printer https://amzn.to/3iGIPlw The very best polishing wheels ever https://amzn.to/2VjG2GK Clear Coat – I enjoy this things! https://amzn.to/2V71kYj NeverDull metal polish https://amzn.to/3zumeiH Liver of Sulfur https://amzn.to/3rIUBjz The links above are affiliate links. Its easier to make stamps out of 01 tool steel, harden it, then press silver flats.

How long did you tumble each coin?

Precious metals molds should always say the maker, metal type, weight and purity. e.g. Robinson Sterling Silver 2 OZ .925

Make a silver cylinder -> cut the cylinder into coin blanks -> polish the blanks to a mirror finish -> make reverse and obverse dyes with designs -> press the designs into the blanks using a hydraulic press.

Can we just call .999 “pain in the ass silver?”

I wonder if you could cast in a vacuum chamber to avoid bubbles.
Obviously good cast design is an alternative solution xD.

Are you open to custom work for others?

This was really fun to watch. Subscribing. I’m surprised this worked as well as it did with only gravity. (Molten pure silver has a high surface tension and is prone to gas and oxide porosity without positive vacuum). When I was a manufacturing jeweler years ago we used a very fine specialty investment and a vacuum chamber casting method to produce delicate detail on coin rings and filigree. Because of the vacuum assist we could cast on the lower end temps of alloyed gold and silver castings making the finished product smooth and clear. It would be great to see you do a vacuum cast or two to compare with sand casting.

How much would you charge me to do a lost wax cast of a small trinket if i was to send it to you made out of the wax product of your choice? It would not need to be perfect. In fact some air bubles and imperfections would be what I would prefer.
