Video Premiere: Cruel Diagonals “Precipice”

Front page picture by Aaron Giesel

The important things Cruel Diagonals’ Megan Mitchell can do with her voice are unbelievable, and it’s all over on her upcoming album, Fractured Whole Looping patterns take doglegs in the opening minutes of “Precipice,” constructing into a cascading plan that’s simulated in the video. Severe signal disturbance problems in and out of presence, as though somebody is attempting to send this message from another location and time. High drama unfolds throughout the track, a midnight vision held up on spacious bass scraps and a twisted, envigorating singing tune. Grinding through cybernetic dreamscapes with a sonic scalpel, taking all the heat that it creates, Mitchell focuses the sharp end of this plan into a diamond cage. Coming cycle is the only course left as echoes of a remote horizon lure us into this decadent trap. Sensational.

Fractured Whole will be launched on March 24 on Beacon Noise. Pre-order HERE.
