Brooches are beautiful.

She married them for her titles and they married her for her money. The only husband who never took a payout at the end was the actor carey grant

The drugs and booze really took their toll on her. She died looking like a woman 25 years older than she was. She had a lot of heartache in life. But lots of people do. She really let her unhappiness destroy her 😊

That is a jadeite necklace to die for!

the cut and recut of the Pasha was really a shame 😱
Tom Moncrieff
Not really. These older-cut diamonds from less advanced countries were poorly executed by European modern standards and they did not sparkle or impress because the design of the cut was not the right one. They also often contained flaws. They are very frequently recut, even today.

What else could an heiress do? In that day and age. I loved the Emerald tiara.

That was lovely Jaydee. I saw the jade bead necklace up close at the Cartier exhibition at the National Gallery in Canberra Australia in 2018. The colour of those beads were outstanding. Personally I liked the ruby and diamond clasp better. Considered to be the best jade in the world, which is why it sold for the staggering sum of $27, m.
The tiger brooch was also on display and gorgeous.
Tsar Alexander II gave Marie/ the Grand Duchess Vladimir the emerald necklace as a wedding gift. The large emerald pendant often attatched to the necklace dates back to the Empress Catherine the Great, which is why the pendant sold for $6 million and the necklace sold separately also for $6 million at Liz Taylors auction. Provenance is everything. Queen Elizabeth II has the Vladimir circle tiara originally with pearl drops. Queen Mary bought it.
Legend says a little old Chinaman taught Barbara Hutton how to tell a real diamond from fake. She was quite the expert when it came to jewels. Her Aunt Marjorie Merriweather Post also bought some fabulous pieces including Tsar Pauls ears of wheat tiara on display at the Hillwood museum in Virginia.

OMG!!! Couldn’t someone help this lady get her eyebrows done? Those bushy eyebrows are such a turn off!!!! All the money…jewels…etc. cannot hide those ugly eyebrows!!!!

Poor Barbara. Loaded with money, that’s all she was wanted for. Depressed she finally just lay in bed, doing nothing but waiting for death.

Its something bout that jade bracelet that I makes me love/want it. So many beautiful pieces of jewelry and unique (and expensive). She had good taste in it. Ashame the men she was involved with did her wrong. If only she married/loved the right one(s) she would have had a better life. Sad what she turned to instead…drinking and drugs. Then the loss of her son. Like her jewelry she was a very beautiful woman.
