YUCATÁN | Ek’ Balam

June 2022 . Although I have actually remained in Mexico previously, the last time remained in 1994-1995. Twenty-seven years later on, Oriol and I are doing a timeless trip of the United Mexican States, including Mexico City (CDMX); Palenque in Chiapas; Villahermosa in Tabasco; Uxmal, Mérida, Chichen Itza, Ek’ Balam, Valladolid,  and a couple of cenotes (waterholes) in Yucatán and Tulum in Quintana Roo We returned through Cancún to CDMX and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

Ekʼ Balam is a Yucatec-Maya historical site within the town of Temozón in Yucatán in Mexico. It depends on the Northern Maya lowlands, 25 kilometres (16 mi) north of Valladolid and 56 kilometres (35 mi) northeast of Chichen Itza. From the Preclassic till the Postclassic duration, it was the seat of a Mayan kingdom.

The website is kept in mind for the conservation of the plaster on the burial place of Ukit Kan Lek Tokʼ, a king buried in the side of the biggest pyramid.

  15. This is the temple in which Ukit Kan Leʼk Tokʼ was buried, called El Trono (‘‘ The Throne’). The entrance remains in the shape of a monster-like mouth, potentially illustrating a jaguar.

A see

This time MexiGo was our trip operator and we were not alone as a couple from Bavaria signed up with. Our guide – – I forgot his name – – was likewise our motorist. Once again, the trip was informative.

Ek’ Balam is a less popular area, so it was not crowded. You might climb up pyramids here, and is really high. Decreasing once again is the tough part.
