Yes, we had our Reunion Supper in your home last Saturday night– my missus demanded cooking for everyone herself rather of heading out someplace for the extremely advantageous banquet. We asked my in-laws– my brother-in-law, his spouse and my niece, house for the celebration from Singapore, to join us and obviously, my sis also, 7 people completely.

As they state, Nian Nian You Yu ( 年年有魚) or abundance every year, so we had this steamed barramundi …

… and this sweet and sour or chio (ikan bawal hitam/ black pomfret) …

… both served entire, like how they state it must be done. Filleted fish do not count, I hesitate. They likewise state that we should not end up all the fish– there must be some left over to be consumed over the subsequent days. Well, we did have a few of that barramudi left however by the end of the supper that night, there was absolutely nothing left of the or chio, besides the bones. My missus needs to have done an excellent task with it– not even the sauce was left.

She likewise made some ngó͘- hiang (meat rolls) or lor bak as it is called at some locations in the peninsula …

I purchased this super-intoxicating kacang ma chicken …

… from Payung and needless to state, it was a hit. Andy offered me some pomelo salad …

… to which I included some Mandarins/ ponkam and served and we likewise grilled the lamb chops …

… that Anthony & & Nica Plus offered me that day. Yes, they enjoyed them quite however I did not touch it this time around as I need to avoid red meat. Everybody sang applauds of the one with rosemary and garlic.

My sis got this conventional Chinese salt-baked chicken …

… from a good friend and she brought it along to show everybody.

Goodness thoughtful me! There sure was plenty …

… to walk around that night, do not you believe?

Think it or not, we completed nearly whatever– there was just a bit left so there was no requirement for us to have a hard time to round off the leftovers in the days that followed. Ideally, that is the foreshadowing of what lies ahead for us in the Year of the Bunny, whatever in abundance, ciak pa pa (consume to our hearts’ material), fingers crossed!
