Live Edge Coffee Table In Mesquite & Cherry
This coffee table was created to being in the center of a living-room, surrounded on 3 sides by seating. My customer desired a rectangle-shaped live edge top that approached the percentages of a square. I understood this requirement would provide the top a “chunky” look, so I attempted to develop a base that would have a great deal of visual interest while reversing the mass of the leading with style components that had a more stylish and airy feel to them.
I acquired a book matched set of mesquite pieces however was unable to get the width I required for the top without including an extra piece in the center.
Here is the leading glued up with the outdoors edges left in their natural state. In the future I filled the fractures and other flaws in the leading with black epoxy.
Here are a couple of shots of the base under building in my store. I utilized clear cherry for much of the parts in the base to keep the table from being too rustic in look.
Turning the bun feet on the lathe.
The base almost completed.
Images of the finished table.
More of my tables can be seen at my site. Thanks!
